The American Identity tour will cover a range of objects in the Art of the Americas Wing. We will explore the ways in which American artists created or built on innovative ways of making art and creating unique expressions which forged individal and national identities. From the Meso & Native Americans & Revolutionary figures to Contemporary artists of diverse backgrounds, the desire to make visual statements has been profound. (As a bonus, a selection of photographs from the new Ansel Adams exhibit will be viewed, if time allows.)
Given by an Alum who is an Associate Guide and experienced Gallery Instructor, this tour will provide opportunities for closer examination of the works, as well as some time for discussion to build visual literacy skills and art appreciation. Join us for this wonderful opportunity to soak in some intriguing masterpieces at the MFA Boston!
Note: Member tickets are free, but recommended that attendees arrive 20 minutes early to get tickets
